All Authentication Mechanisms Are Disabled and No-one Can Log In

If a Secure Global Desktop Administrator accidentally disables all authentication mechanisms, no-one can log in to SGD, even the UNIX root user.

You solve this problem as follows:

  1. Become superuser (root) on an SGD host.
  2. Enable a UNIX system authentication mechanism from the command line.

    Use the following command:

Skip past command syntax or program code# tarantella config edit --login-ens 1
  3. Log in to SGD Administration Console with the user name Administrator and the UNIX root user's password.
  4. On the Global Settings » Secure Global Desktop Authentication tab, reconfigure user authentication.
