What printers are supported by Secure Global Desktop?

Secure Global Desktop supports PostScript, PCL and text only printers. The Secure Global Desktop tta_print_converter script performs any conversion needed to format print jobs correctly for the client device's printer.

Supporting printers on Windows 2000/2003

When printing from a Windows 2000/2003 application server, the large number and variety of printers available can cause problems. The majority of the problems are caused by not having the correct printer drivers installed on the application server. One solution is to use wildcards in the /opt/tarantella/etc/data/default.printerinfo.txt file to support a wider range of printers without having to install more printer drivers on your Windows 2000/2003 application server. Another solution is to use Secure Global Desktop PDF printing.

In general, if the printer is supported by Windows 2000/2003, then Secure Global Desktop should support it. See the Windows Printer Driver Support page for details of supported printers.

If a printer is supported, it is advisable to determine whether a user can print to the printer using the MS Terminal Services Client, before introducing Secure Global Desktop.
