How to configure a Reverse Telnet session on an IOLAN+  
   

Issue: 
How do I configure the IOLAN+ to be able to connect via the lan to a device that is attached to a serial port on the IOLAN+ ? 

Solution:


Log into the unit, and enter the Connections Menu.

Select Administration from the next menu. 

Select Password from the next menu .

Enter the password at the prompt.

Select Port. Leave all values at the default settings. 

Change the ACCESS value to REMOTE

change the MODE value to TELNET.

Press enter then "exit and save ".

Select KILL then enter the port number in the next menu.

To connect to the port issue " telnet "
The default TCP port value is 10000 + the physical port number.
example:
# telnet 165.154.129.186 10001

You can verify the connection by viewing the STATS -> USERS.
