Team,

I can use some guidance helping a customer troubleshoot a Code Reader
2500 connected to Sun Rays. They've made significant investments in
these devices and it will be ugly if we can't get these to work on Sun
Rays. They've tested a Symbol USB barcode scanner/reader with success
on a Sun Ray - this includes to a Windows 2003 TS session and to Windows
Notepad via SGD. The Code Reader 2500 is wireless, connected via
Bluetooth, and the modem has a USB connection to the Sun Ray. Here's
some other things I've learned:

* When the scanner is connected to a laptop either by the provided USB
cable or wirelessly via the Code XML M3 modem (which also uses the USB
cable), barcodes can be scanned into notepad without issue.
* When the scanner is connected to a laptop by either connection method,
open an RDP session with a terminal server (either physical or virtual
machine), barcodes scan into notepad in the Terminal Services session
without an issue.
* When the scanner is connected to the physical terminal server directly
(either connection method), barcodes can be scanned into notepad without
issue.
* When the scanner is connected to a Sun Ray, pointing at either of the
terminal servers (via SRWC) tested in the above scenarios, barcodes are
not scanned into notepad at all. The only time we can get a character
to be written to notepad is when I sync the scanner with the Bluetooth
modem; it writes either a 0 or a 2 when it syncs for the first time, but
nothing else.
* When the scanner is connected to a Sun Ray with a Solaris desktop, it
writes either a 0 or a 2 when it syncs for the first time, but nothing else.
* The Code website says that there are no drivers required and thus none
are available
* Another customer confirmed they have a Symbol LS3578-FZ (Bluetooth,
USB) scanner working successfully with Sun Rays
* Adam W. mentions a Code Bluetooth scanner here and he's got a picture
of it - looks like the same one :

Our customer loaned me one of these scanners but I haven't the slightest
idea on how to troubleshoot this further. I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks,
Jason
