I don't believe this would make any difference.
As described in CR 6259431: Sun Ray should make proper use of /etc/dt/config
currently SRSS always modifies the /usr/dt/config/ versions of
Xstartup, Xsetup, and Xreset, which are ignored if the customer has
modified versions in /etc/dt/config/.
There's also what looks like a duplicate bug:
6442827: Sun Ray should make proper use of /etc/dt/config
4446271: Sun Ray should detect and report incomplete site-local dtlogin
which has a slightly different take and suggests that it might be
inappropriate for SRSS to modify scripts in /etc/dt/config, but
it should at least detect and report such files if they don't
contain the necessary SRSS stanzas.
6259431 is marked as targeted for a fix in our next SRSS release,
although depending on priorities (it's a P3 bug) it might not
make the cut. If you feel strongly that this ought to be fixed
you should call Sun Support and ask to have your name added
to the Service Record for this bug report, and perhaps have it escalated
(assuming you have a support contract with Sun).
